People throughout the world live in pursuit of raising their families and living their lives in a state of individual liberty; free of war, hunger, disease, poverty, religious persecution, economic servitude, terrorism, and tyranny in government. This set of ideals has rarely been achieved in history, but humanity continues to strive for this high objective.

Believing in this objective, the founders of the Liberty & Democracy Alliance focus its mission on defending liberty in the Americas, by:

• Providing leadership in promoting and revitalizing the philosophy, principles, and values of western liberal democracy in the Western Hemisphere, which have come under continuous attack throughout the 20th century.

• Informing the people of the world of the specific threats to liberal democracy in the 21st Century, and the political and other non-violent countermeasures needed to restore liberty to the people, based on the core political, religious, and cultural values of western liberal democracy.

• Periodically evaluating, grading, and reporting to the United Nations, on the status of “Individual Liberty” in each country in the Americas. The grading will be based on standards which apply regardless of specific form of government.

• Serving as the foremost advocates and ideological defender of liberty, liberalism, and Western liberal democracy as the superior form of government in modern society.

• Organizing and arranging with academic partners for the conduct of continuing education and training courses, seminars, conferences and meetings for propagating the principles and values of Western liberal democracy.

• Promoting a universal democracy initiative advocated in House Bill 1133, by Rep. Tom Lantos (CA-12) and Senate Bill 516,  by  Mr. McCain & Mr. Lieberman titled the “Advance Democracy Act.”

• Organizing an “American Democracy Alliance” of all liberal, progressive, and democratic organizations in the U.S.

• Expanding this activity in foreign countries, especially in the Western Hemisphere.
