The Threat of the Fanatical Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist Crusaders

“For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am Christ’, and will deceive many.”
Jesus Christ, The King James Bible, Matthew 24:5

Christian-Nationalist (The U.S. is a Christian Nation) concepts of civil governance, based on extreme Orthodox religious dogma, discredited for its excesses, hypocrisy, and brutality, throughout its 1300 year European history; and ended by the Enlightenment of the 17th and 18th Century; reappeared in the U.S. in the last three decades of the 20th Century.

“I believe in an America where the separation of Church and State is absolute.”
John F. Kennedy, September 12, 1960

The Great Awakenings

“And truly the religious revival assumed formidable proportions. The people, what of their wretchedness, and of their disappointment in all things earthly, were ripe and eager for a Heaven…Wild-eyed, itinerant preachers swarmed over the land; …and the flames of religious frenzy were fanned by countless camp meetings.”
“The Iron Heel”, by Jack London, 1907

This is not the first time religious fanaticism has appeared in America. In 1734 the first evangelical and religious revival called the Great Awakening, was led by revivalist minister Jonathan Edwards and Methodist George Whitefield.

The movement started in New England, and soon spread throughout the Colonies causing religious bigotry and clerical abuses for 30 years, until the 1760s.

False Messiahs in Colonial Times

Early American Criticism of English Evangelical Revivalists, George Whitefield and Gilbert Tennent, by Charles Chauncy, Minister, First Anglican Church of Boston, August 4, 1742

“All were Pharisees, hypocrites, carnal, unregenerative wretches, both ministers and people, who did not think just as he did, particularly as to the doctrines of Calvinism; and those who opposed him, and the work of God he was sure he was carrying on, would have opposed Christ Jesus himself and his apostles, had they lived in their day.”

“They pray with the people, call upon them to come to Christ, tell them they are dropping into hell, and take upon them what they imagine is the business of preaching.”

“I am among those who are clearly in the opinion that there never was such a spirit of superstition and enthusiasm reigning in the land before; never such gross disorders and barefaced affronts to common decency; never such scandalous reproaches on the Blessed Spirit, making him the author of the greatest irregularities and confusion.”

“They place their religion so much in the heat and fervor of their passion that they too much neglect their reason and judgment; and instead of being more full of mercy and good fruits, they are more bitter, fierce, and implacable”

“And that is the grand discriminating mark of this work, wherever it takes place, is that it makes men spiritually proud and conceited beyond measure; infinitely censorious and uncharitable to neighbors, to relations even the nearest and dearest, to ministers in a special manner; yea to all mankind who are not as they are, and don’t think and act as they do.”

In 1799, a second Great Awakening of Fundamentalist Orthodoxy swept the country, and lasted for another 30 years, until 1830. These Christian revival movements appear to have had the opposite effect on the population, as the next five decades ushered in a period of some of the most anti-Christian activities in our history; including the deliberate genocide of the Native American peoples, and the evils of slavery.

In the past such paroxysms of religious fervor were caused by zealots that were active long enough to fill their coffers with loot. Based on past experience, we might have to tolerate the current Christian-Nationalist Great Awakening for at least 20 more years; that is unless they achieve their political objectives; which are more infinitely more dangerous than their predecessors.

Fascists Create Religious Awakenings:

“The views of Liberalism have now become so much the dominant ideas of all so-called intellectuals that even current Christian Orthodoxy is unwittingly corroded by it, and having an enemy in its camp is prevented from fighting it in the open with any success..we must set about creating a religious reawakening.”
Paul De Lagarde, German Nationalist and Paleo-Fascist Icon, 1886

This time, the Great Awakening is being led by socially reactionary religious demagogues who lead primarily Non-Traditional Christian ministries calling themselves by names such as; Conservative, Fundamentalist, Evangelical, Charismatic, Interdenominational, Pentecostal, Born Again, and the most bizarre of all; the Christian Exodus, the Dominionists, and the Deconstructionist sects.

In October 2005, the press reported that a Christian Exodus sect had invaded South Carolina. The Exodists believe that people of faith have failed to assert their moral agenda and now abortion is legal, whereas School prayer is banned, and there are limits on public displays of the Ten Commandments. Worst of all, Gays and lesbians can marry in Massachusetts.

Christian Exodus activists plan to take control of sheriff's offices, city councils and school boards. Eventually, they say, they will control all of South Carolina. They will then pass godly legislation, defying Supreme Court rulings on the separation of church and state.

“We're going to force a constitutional crisis. If necessary, we will secede from the union.”
Cory Burnell, Investment Advisor, Founder

While the Christian Exodus sect is small and far out, other more dangerous groups that have become large and influential, have the same agenda.

Like the CNF Republicans, the Christian-Nationalists have organized themselves into Propaganda Front organizations that spread their gospel of converting the American Liberal Democracy into a theocratic state; which follows their extreme form of Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalism. These efforts have paid off handsomely in great wealth and political power for their leaders.

Some of the most virulent of these Christian Nationalist Extremist Front Groups include; (Drawn partially from the Spring 2005 issue of the Southern Poverty Law Center Intelligence Report)

Chalcedon Foundation, (The Vatican of Christian Nationalism) Vallecito, California (www.chalcedon.edu)

Established in 1965, by R. John Rushdoony. Rushdoony is known as the Father of Christian Constructionism” (Christian Nationalism) Rushdoony’s message, articulated in his book “Institutes of Biblical Law proclaims the state’s subservience to God; that fundamentalist Christians must take control of governments and impose strict biblical law on America and the world; the death penalty for practicing homosexuals, among other abominators; opposed interracial marriage or enforced integration; claimed that all men are not created equal before God; that any employer has a “property right” to prefer whom he will hire in terms of color, creed, race, or national origin; contends that the Bible recognizes that some people are by nature slaves and that in fact, American slavery was generally benevolent”; and denies the Holocaust as a false witness” claim.

Alliance Defense Fund, Scottsdale Arizona, (www.alliancedefensefund.org)

In 1993, a coalition of 35 Christian Right groups founded the Alliance Defense Fund (ADF) Key founders included President Alan Sears, (Reagan Administration Appointee) D. James Kennedy of Coral Ridge Ministries, and Donald Wildmon of the so-called “American Family Association.”

American Family Association, Tupelo, Mississippi (www.afa.net)

Created by Donald Wildmon in 1977 has built an empire of 200 station radio network, about 100 employees and a monthly journal sent to 180,000 people, largely on the basis of hate propaganda. Has 21 State Directors, devoted to Anti-Homosexual campaigns.

American Vision, Atlanta, Georgia. (www.americanvision.org)

“The regeneration of race has to be backed up by the regeneration of the family institution, because the family constituted in accordance with traditional principles of Christian morality represents a storehouse of social virtues, a bastion against the corruption of the social environment, a sacred depository of traditions..what we call for is a Hispanic Supercaste, ethnically improved, morally robust, spiritually vigorous.”
Antonio Vallejo-Nagera, Spanish Falange Fascist, 1937

Founded in 1978, by Gary DeMar; one of America’s most prominent proponents of Christian Reconstructionism (Nationalism). A Follower of R.J. Rushdoony, DeMar contends that the U.S. was founded as a “Christian Nation and that its Democracy should be replaced by a theocratic government run by Christians who will strictly impose certain Old Testament prohibitions, including passages they interpret as opposing homosexuality and abortion. It has been reported that DeMar …believes that;

“…the occasional execution of “sodomites” would serve society well, because “the law requires the death penalty for homosexual acts effectively drives the perversion of homosexuality underground, back into the closet.”

DeMar is also down on anti-poverty programs “Nowhere in the Bible is civil government given authority to help the poor by raising taxes on the rich” he insisted on his American Vision website essay.

Christian Action Network, Forest, Va. (www.christianaction.org)

Founded in 1990, by Martin Mamyer; longtime editor of Jerry Falwell’s Moral Majority Report, Virulent Anti-homosexual, Anti-Globalism, Highly political, attack ads produced against the Senate campaign of Hillary Clinton, alleging that she was a lesbian, and supported homosexual marriage. Mamyer led a campaign against Disney World and other theme parks claiming that “they are after our children” because Disney had scheduled “Gay Days” at their theme parks.

Moral Majority founder Jerry Falwell raised funds by issuing a “Declaration of War” on homosexuality. Falwell hatefully called gays and lesbians brute beasts and says they are “part of a vile and satanic system (that) will be utterly annihilated”

Teletubbies Tinky Winky is a Gay Activist!

“He is purple—the gay pride color; and his antenna is shaped like a triangle—the gay pride symbol.”
Jerry Falwell, Liberty Journal

Concerned Women For America, Wash., DC (www.cfwa.org)

Founded by Beverly LaHaye, wife of televangelist and writer Tim LaHaye in 1979; to compete with the National Organization For Women, which Tim LaHaye calls “Anti-God, Anti-Family. Pro-homosexual; LaHaye operates a daily radio show reaching one million listeners, four affiliate organizations, and a cadre of attorneys, researchers, and lobbyists battling the “radical, leftist crusade to transform America into “Sextopia” He employs two of America’s most prominent Anti-Homosexual propagandists; Robert Knight and Peter LaBarbera, a former Washington times reporter.

“The mercy and grace of God seem to reach their breaking point when homosexuality becomes normal. Put another way, when Sodomy fills the national cup of man’s abominations to overflowing, God marks that nation for destruction.”
Tim LaHaye, author of the “Left Behind” series.

Coral Ridge Ministries, Fort Lauderdale, Fla. Beginning in the 1960s James Kennedy turned Coral ridge Presbyterian into a Mega-Church that claims 10,000 members. Kennedy runs one of the largest fundamentalist enterprises in America with some 160 employees, several divisions, including a Washington, DC based Center for Christian Statesmanship. His radio and TV studios produce shows that reach a combined weekly audience of three million. Kennedy who is tied closely to leading Reconstructionists (Christian Nationalists) built his empire largely on disgusting, inflammatory Anti-Gay, and Anti-Black propaganda. U.S. Surgeon General Everett Koop, a conservative evangelical himself; attacked Kennedy’s statements about AIDS as “reprehensible and homophobic

“Culture and Religion are consubstantial with the Christian Family, which suffuses the atmosphere with a morally purifying influence that consolidates and preserves racial values.”
Antonio Vallejo-Nagera, Spanish Fascist, 1937

On June 26, 2003 the U.S. Supreme Court overturned the convictions of two Texas men arrested for having sex in private. Writing for the majority in Lawrence v. Texas, Justice Anthony Kennedy said that the two men were “entitled to respect for their private lives” The State, he declared, “cannot demean their existence or control their destiny by making their private sexual conduct a crime”

A national survey found that 75% of Republicans and 88% of Democrats wanted sodomy laws struck down, but the Christian Nationalist Crusaders were incensed;

“Six lawyers robed in black have magically discovered a right of privacy that includes sexual perversion.”
Jan LaRue, Chief Counsel, Concerned Women for America

Immediately after the Lawrence decision James Kennedy, President of Coral Ridge Ministries, whose morality crusades pull in $35 million annually, issued a call to arms. Kennedy said the Holy War on gay rights should be renewed on the battlefront of public opinion, pressing for a Constitutional Marriage amendment. The NFC Republicans, including Bush Jr., jumped on the bandwagon.

Family Research Council (www.frc.org)

FRC was a small lobbying group, founded by Gary Bauer, a former Department of Education Republican appointee. FRC merged in the 1980s with James Dobson’sFocus on the Family” mega-ministry; and with Dobson’s millions behind it, became a prominent conservative political lobby for Anti-Gay, Anti-Abortion, and Anti-Sex education policies with leaders on Capitol Hill.

“This opens the door to bigamy, adult incest, polygamy, and prostitution.”
Ken O’Connor, President, Family Research Council

Bauer is another cynical Christian Nationalist that has used the bashing of homosexuals to promote extreme theocratic concepts of government. The FRC led boycotts against American corporations such as American Airlines for its immoral benefits” program that provided “domestic partners benefits”to homosexual couples.

“If they succeed, all distinctions based on sex may fall, and the worst aspects of the rejected Equal Rights Amendment will be imposed. Homosexuals will gain the “right” to adopt children;…churches will be pushed outside civil law; and government power will be wielded against anyone who holds the biblical view of homosexuality.”
Gary Bauer, Family Research Council

In 2003, FRC leadership was assumed by Tony Perkins, a “family values” crusader who gave speeches to the White Supremacist “Council of Conservative Citizens” FRC is well established in Washington with Board members such as NFC Republican Senator Tom Coburn of Oklahoma.

“What’s at stake here is the very foundation of our society, not only of America but all western Civilization.”
Tony Perkins, Family Research Council

Family Research Institute, Colorado Springs, Colorado (familyresearchinst.org)

Founded in 1987, by Paul Cameron, the Family research Institute claims to produce “cutting edge research” on “family policy” issues.< /p>

In truth, Cameron is the long time house psychologist of the Anti-Gay movement, and one of the most thoroughly discredited researchers in America. After losing his job teaching Psychology at the University of Nebraska in 1980, Cameron began to crank out “scientific studies that bolstered the claims of people like Anita Bryant, Jerry Falwell, ands other early Anti-homosexual crusaders claiming that gay people were diseased perverts” with a program to molest children and demolish America.

“Homosexuality constitutes a conspiracy against society.”
Paul Cameron, discredited Psychologist

Cameron’s first organization, The Institute for the Scientific Investigation of Sexuality, distributed hysterical pamphlets falsely alleging that gay people were much more likely than others to be serial murderers, child molesters, and intentional disease spreaders. Cameron has called for gay bars to be closed; and gays to be registered with the police the same as child molesters. He even declared that AIDS was a Godsend. He was kicked out of the American Psychological Association and the American Sociological Association. Since then Anti-homosexual groups have continued to cite his discredited research. Incredibly, former U.S. Rep, Robert Dornan R-Cal) and former U.S. Senator Robert Smith (R-Cal) are serving on his Board.

Focus on The Family, Colorado springs, Co., (www.family.org)

Founded in 1977 by James Dobson, a former Child Development Professor and Spanking enthusiast.

SpongeBob Squarepants is a Gay Activist:

“The video itself is innocent enough and does not mention anything overtly sexual. But while the video is harmless on its own, I believe the agenda behind it is sinister.”
James Dobson, January 2001, Washington, DC

Focus operates on a 47-acre campus, and employs about 1,300 employees battling against Gay rights, Sex education and Women’s rights with an enormous annual budget of $130 million. Dobson’s radio show, is in a continuous battle with the forces of evil as Dobson sees it. He is heard on 9,000 radio stations worldwide, giving him an estimated listening audience of more than 200 million! The current FOF President, Dobson stooge, Don Hodel, formerly served as the U.S. Secretary of the Interior, and head of the Christian Coalition. He also chairs the sinister “Council For National Policy” a secretive group of America’s most powerful Ultra-right-wing leaders, that Dobson formerly chaired. Dobson has played a key role in the national campaign against gay marriage and the pressure on the White House to appoint far right Justices to the Supreme Court.

“…the gay agenda has all the elements of that which is evil. It is destroying the souls and lives of those who embrace it.”
John Eldridge, Focus on the Family

Summit Ministries, Manitou Springs, Co. (www.summit.org)

David Noebel, once an Evangelist with the late Billy Joe Hargis scandal plagued Anti-Communist Christian Crusade; founded Summit Ministries in 1962. In 1977, while a member of the conspiracy minded John Birch Society, Noebel was among the first to recognize that Anti-Gay activism could surpass Anti-Communism as a winning issue for extreme Fundamentalists. It operates an unaccredited campus style conference Center for Christian College students, with campuses in Ohio and Tennessee. The Summit graduates about 1,300 students annually, all indoctrinated in Christian Nationalism and bigotry against homosexuals, women’s rights, and other favorite right wing scapegoats. In 1986, Noebel teamed up with Paul Cameron and Wayne Lutton, currently a leader in the White-Supremacist Council of Conservative Citizens: and wrote Special Report: AIDS”, which advocated the exile of all active homosexuals from America”

Traditional Values Coalition, Anaheim California, (www.traditionalvalues.org)

Former Presbyterian Minister and Pat Robertson protégé Lou Sheldon, founded the TVC in 1981. Sheldon is a veteran Anti-Gay basher who deems homosexuality a deathstyle. Sheldon claims 43,000 churches are part of his coalition; sends a steady stream of sensational fundraising appeals to TVC members. Most are Anti-Gay but there is a strand of Christian Nationalism in all of his sermons. Sheldon personally suggested putting AIDS victims into “Cities of Refuge”, and when a Hate Bill was signed in California in the early 1990s he told a reporter that it would “protect sex with animals and the rape of children as forms of political expression.”

TVC Coalition founder Sheldon, who has suggested isolating victims of AIDS in “Cities of Refuge (meaning concentration camps) says that they are deviants who target children for recruitment” to gay sex, cross-dressing, and sex-change operations.

What will weaken America as a World Power; is not the decadence of Secularists, Gays, and Liberals but the Superstition, Ignorance, and Intolerance which these Fundamentalist Anti-Christs are spreading across America and the world. We cannot compete in the Global Economy under the yoke of a medieval monolithic culture in which Science is replaced with sectarian Biblical mythology; and where Civil Liberties and Political Power are reserved for the “Chosen or Electfollowers of these corrupt Demagogues.

What Do these Lucrative Organizations Have in Common?

When reading about the activities of these so-called Christian organizations, several features become crystally clear:

  1. They are all devoted to high sounding causes, but they are actually playing on the fears and prejudices of their uninformed audiences.

  2. They are all in the very lucrative business of soliciting funds by emotional and religious appeals to mass audiences

  3. Like the original Nazis they have a visceral fear, hatred, and enmity toward homosexuals and demonize them as “perverts, child molesters, deviants, and evil people; in the same way that the Nazis demonized the Jews.

  4. When they describe Gays as voracious beasts trying to “recruit” in the schools, it is similar to the 19th century characterization, conservative Christian racists ranted about “lust crazed” and “demonicblack men intent on raping white women.

  5. They are all attempting to influence legislation that will apply not just to their extremist Christian followers, but to all people, everywhere.

  6. Their beliefs are all based on their exclusive interpretation of the Old Testament of the King James version of the Christian Bible. However, many biblical scholars believe that several key passages in the Bible that they cite, are actually denouncing orgies and prostitution, or in the case of Sodom, inhospitality; not homosexuality!

  7. They are all interconnected and are members of the sinister secret Council For National Policy and the Christian Nationalist movement which has as its goal the overturn of the American Liberal Democratic Government; initially by constitutional means, and then by extra-constitutional means if necessary. Many of their leaders have close association with White Supremacy movements.

Christian Coalition founder Pat Robertson, who once warned of tornadoes and earthquakes hitting Orlando, Fla., if Disney World didn’t cancel “Gay Day” says that allowing gays to serve in the military gives “preferred status to evil.”

Beginning in the 1980s, Rushdoony’s Christian-Nationalist followers began attending secret annual meetings of the leaders of these Christian extremist organizations, to develop strategies for overturning the American Liberal Democratic system of government; and to substitute a theocratic government system based on Biblical law. It seems far fetched and almost laughable, if they were not such dangerous and determined people.

By the time the Soviet Union collapsed and they no longer had “Godless Communism” as their Anti-Christ, it became necessary to find new enemies of their paranoid Christian world. Like the first Fascists they quickly discovered the utility of having convenient scapegoats. This time the victims could not be the Jews as that would be too obvious, and the blacks were becoming too well accepted in American society. They needed new scapegoats.

“…lesbians and gay men are the “ultimate enemy… “gay rights will plunge our people and indeed the entire West into a dark night of the soul that could last hundreds of years.”
“Shadow in the Land: Homosexuality in America,” U.S. Rep. William Dannemeyer (R-Cal.)

Conservative Christian sects have historically led Crusades against Evils in society, including; Witchcraft, Alcohol, Godless Communism, Pornography, Feminism, Abortion, Prostitution, Explicit Movies, Music, Dance, Magazines, Drugs, Homosexuality, and a host of other sins that they demanded be turned into crimes. This time they decided Homosexuals, Abortionists, Pornographers, and Atheists would become the scapegoats. Over time they found that alarms about Homosexuals raised the most money, and they all concentrated heavily on a Pogrom against the Gay movement.

“AIDS is nature’s revenge on Gay men.”
Pat Buchanan, President Reagan’s Communications Director

The 21st Century Pogrom:

“Homosexuality is an abomination of Almighty God…they are a group of people who don’t reproduce, yet want to be compared with people who do reproduce”
Bill McCartney, Univ. of Colorado football coach, Founder of “Promise Keepers”, all male stadium revivals.

The CNF fanatics are fully aware that if you call a group of people evil and sick and immoral, often enough; the violent radical hooligans are going to act on it. Cruel name calling, describing homosexuals as mentally ill, perverts, child molesters, deviants, and evil, has led to increased violence all across America.

Fascism and Christianity:

“On the one hand you find Fascism, taken from Christianity, taken directly from the Christian conception, the immense vision of service, of self-abnegation, of self-sacrifice in the cause of others, in the cause of the world, in the cause of your country; not the elimination of the individual, so much as the fusion of the individual in something far greater than himself, and you have the basic doctrine of Fascism.”
Oswald Mosley. British Union of Fascists (BUF) formed in October 1932

The biblical wrath that the Christian-Nationalists vomit on our society, is exactly the same as the hate rhetoric which accompanied Pogroms against the Jews in 19th Century Europe, where Jews were accused of blood libel, the accusation that they kidnapped Gentile children, killed them, and drained their blood to make matzohs!

The Nazis, building on similar demonization, said Jews were a mongrel race, sub-human and associated them with disease, filth, urban degeneration, preying on white women, usury, and crimes. For the past 25 years the Christian- Nationalists have kept up a similar steady drumbeat of demonization of Homosexuals.

“Our job is to reclaim America for Christ, whatever the cost… we are to exercise Godly Dominion and influence over our neighborhoods, our schools, our government… over every aspect and institution of human society.”
Dr. James Kennedy, Coral Ridge Ministries
Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist

Kennedy’s Coral ridge TV and radio audiences number around 3 million in the U.S. and his Center for reclaiming America, which boasts an E-Army of half a million, has committed it’s resources to “Save America” from Judges who support tolerance and civil rights. In September 2005, the Interfaith Alliance reported on a Religious Right Conference orchestrated by Kennedy called “Reclaiming America For ChristThe Conference was attended by 1,000 fanatical followers, and featured several prominent NFC Republican politicians.

The Conference opened with an Anti-American oath that eerily expressed the religious right’s vision for America:

“I pledge allegiance to the Christian flag, and to the saviour, crucified, risen, and coming again, with life and liberty for all those who believe.”

At this conference, the Holy Rep. Tom DeLay of Texas (who had just been indicted for illegally funneling Corporate money into Texas Congressional campaigns), made the following remarks;

“Bush’s Faith-based initiatives are a great opportunity to bring God back into the public institutions of our country.”

At this Conference, Republican Rep. Walter Jones of North Carolina rapturously declared:

“America is under assault!…you cannot have a strong nation that does not follow God.…God, please----God, please----God, please---save America.”

Jones has introduced H.R. 235, which would allow houses of worship to directly endorse or oppose political candidates, turning houses of worship into campaign headquarters.

Rep. Catherine Harris (R) of Florida, of hanging chad infamy, urged the conferees to:

“…win back America for God.”(and Republicans)

In his speech, Kennedy called Church-State separation:

“…the sharpest sword in the devil’s arsenal.”

He then summarized the Christian-Nationalist’s avowed mission from God:

“As the vice-regents of God, we are to exercise godly DOMINION and influence over our neighborhoods, our government, our literature and arts, our sports arenas, our entertainment media, our news media, our scientific endeavors---in short, every aspect and institution in human society.”
Dr. James Kennedy

Christian-Nationalists follow the teachings of Rushdoony; who was an extremely Orthodox Presbyterian minister, and the founder of Dominion Theology and the Christian Reconstruction Sect, which would replace the U.S. Constitution with Biblical Law.

Separation of Church and State

“The Government of the United States, is not, in any sense, founded on the Christian Religion.”
George Washington, Treaty of Tripoli, 1796

Our founding fathers, who were intimately familiar with the history of Centuries of religious persecution and religious wars in Europe, wisely established a Constitution that absolutely separated Church and State.

This has stood the test of time, preventing religious strife in American life, that had been so prevalent in other societies, throughout the history of European Christianity. Mr. Bush and the NFC Republicans have, by their actions, shown that they do not respect this fundamental principal of our Republic.

The office of the President is not that of Chief Priest of any religious faith.

“Christianity neither is, nor ever was, a part of the common law.”
Thomas Jefferson, Feb. 10, 1814

The Christian-Nationalist movement is founded on these cult beliefs of Dominionism, or Christian Reconstructionism. Its doctrines are shocking to ordinary Christian believers, and to most Americans. Journalist Frederick Clarkson, who has written extensively on the subject, warned in 1994 that:

Dominionism “seeks to replace Democracy, with a theocratic elite that would govern by imposing their interpretation of Biblical Law.” He described that some of the ulterior political motives of Dominionism are to eliminate Labor unions, Civil rights laws, and Public Schools.”

“These people draw near to Me with their mouth; And honor Me with their lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me. Teaching as doctrines the Commandments of men.”
Jesus Christ, The King James Bible, Matthew 15: 8-9

The most fanatical goal of Christian-Nationalism is to create a Christian state; instigate Armageddon, and usher in the End Times and the Rapture.

“The only way you can get Christ back is if you destroy the Dome of Omar and the infidel structures and build the third temple. And if the Jews don't build the third temple, Jesus can't give his abomination of desolation. Once they build the third temple, Jesus comes back and he brings the raptured church back with him, armed with NRA Uzi and AK-47s, and they run us all for a thousand years.”
George E. Lowe: Can “It” Happen Here? Hasn't “It” Already? A Fascist Christian America, in interview by Buzzflash

In mid 2005, Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia, who helped to give Bush the Presidency in 2000, went on what has been called a Road Trip for Christian- Nationalism. At one stop he gave a speech to a synagogue, in which he stated that Jews should feel very secure in a Christian State, and should not be afraid of America becoming a “Christian State”. Scalia is reported to be a member of the extreme right wing Catholic cult, called Opus Dei.

The Rapture revelation has created an alliance between many Right Wing Christians, in particular the Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist Crusaders, who firmly believe in Armageddon, and the so-called Christian Zionists; even though it's a temporary alliance, because the Christian Zionists believe that all the Jews will be destroyed except for 144,000; who will then be converted to their form of Christianity, in the coming battle of Armageddon.

“The chief duty of governments, in so far as they are coercive, is to restrain those who would interfere with the inalienable rights of the individual, among which are the right to life, the right to liberty, the right to the pursuit of happiness, and the right to worship God according the dictates of one’s conscience.”
William Jennings Bryan, 1915

Rushdoony, called the “Ayatollah of the Holy Rollers” by his critics, has served the same role of ideological mentor for the Christian Right, as Alfred Rosenberg did for the Fascist Nazi movement.

Rushdoony wrote in almost the same terms as Adolf Hitler:

“Supernatural Christianity and Democracy are inevitably enemies” and “Democracy is the great love of the failures and the cowards of life.”
R. John Rushdoony

Rushdoony favored racial segregation and slavery, which he felt had benefited black people, because it introduced them to Christianity. He largely denied the Holocaust.

Clarkson wrote that under Christian-Nationalism; women would generally be relegated to hearth and home. (a lot like the Nazi Hausenfrau) Insufficiently Christian men would be denied citizenship, perhaps executed. So severe is this puritanical theocracy, that it would extend capital punishment to blasphemy, heresy, adultery, and homosexuality.

Clarkson claims that the founders of this cult movement included Rushdoony, his son-in-law Gary North, Pat Robertson (700 Club), Herb Titus, the former Dean of Robertson’s Regent University School of Public Policy (formerly CBN University), Charles Coulson, (Watergate Conspirator) Robertson’s political strategist, Tim LaHaye, Gary Bauer, the late Francis Schaeffer, and Paul Crouch, the founder of TBN, the world’s largest television network; plus a virtual army of like minded television and radio evangelists and talk show hosts.

These heretical Christian Jihadists believe that Secular Humanists are the greatest threat to Christianity the world has ever known.

According to the Christian-Nationalists, humanists are the folks who allow or encourage licentious behavior in America. They are the undisciplined revelers.

Christian Humanity:

“That nation is not Christian where the principles of humanity do not prevail, but the prejudices of race. I expect the Christian not to be superstitious, but to be distinguished by the clearness of his knowledge, the strength of his faith, the breadth of his humanity.”
Henry David Thoreau

Clarkson observes that, if you put all the enemies of the Dominionists together, into one single most highly derided and contaminated individual known to man, and you will have before you an image of the quintessential Liberal, one of those folks who wants taxes to be used liberally for the poor and needy, who desires the welfare and happiness of all Americans, who insists on safety regulations for workers protection, and who desires the preservation of genuine Christian values. In other words, a Liberal!

According to Dominionists, these enemies of God’s people are Pariahs, and must be reduced to powerlessness -- or worse, extinction. The Texas Neo-Conservative Republican platform; reveals that they are not just talking about these bizarre Theo-political beliefs, as many Christian-Nationalist precepts have already found their way into the State Party Platform and the Neo-Conservative Republican agendas.

“I lived among them. When the Reagan Administration came in, I was Secretary of Education Bell's speech writer. I looked around and who did I see? Gary Bauer as an Assistant Secretary, Bob Billings, one of the founders of the Moral Majority; another Assistant Secretary. Civil rights was handed over to Alan Keyes and Clarence Thomas. They dumped a lot of strange people into the department that had Hal Lindsey's book, The Late, Great Planet Earth, and the Good Shepherd's Yellow Pages. They had little cards that they would post up in the halls saying, "Listen to Jim Baker and Tammy Faye." They were revolutionaries. And here I am, an American historian, worried about this, because I was fighting the military fascists in the sixties. Here we get Christian fascists, and I just couldn't comprehend it.”
George E. Lowe, Author, “It Can Happen Here-A Fascist Christian America”

Like Nazism, Christian-Nationalism or Dominionism dogma, is a form of Social Darwinism. It includes the religious belief that wealth-power is a sign of God’s election. That is, out of the masses of people and the multitude of nations, wealth in and of itself, is thought to indicate God’s approval of men and nations, whereas poverty and sickness reflect God’s disapproval.

The New Age of Cristo-Fascist Faith:

“…the Corporate State must not be considered solely as a means of good government. It is also the means of self-expression of the nation as a Corporate whole in the attainment of its National destiny. It will be in recovering the “Age of Faith” of Christendom and the vital energy of Tudor England that we may realize in part the great future of our nation.”
Alexander Raven Thompson, Fascist Leader, BUF Pamphlet, London 1936

Worldly wealth and power are signs of God’s favor. Any attempt to limit or decrease one’s wealth and power is to disrespect God. On the contrary, God’s Elect on earth are required to increase their wealth and power, so as to dominate economically all people and nations. Any attempt to decrease a persons wealth and power, such as taxes, to take from the rich and give to the poor, or to reduce military spending and power, is a direct attack on their version of God’s plan. It is not sufficient for a man to be a millionaire, or for a country to have sovereignty within its borders, this heresy must be delivered to the entire world.

“Now I have found the word: we modern Germans are something like Christ-socialists. The battle which we are fighting today till victory is secured, or to the bitter end, is in the deepest sense a battle between Christ and Marx.. Christ: the principle of Love, Marx: the principle of Hate”
Joseph Goebbels, Nazi Propaganda Chief, Munich 1931

Dominionist Theology Require Fascist Invasions and Murder:

Rushdoony wrote that a Dominionist government’s behavior toward its neighbors must be to:

“invade their countries, kill their leaders, and convert them to Christianity.” (the same words used by NFC Propagandist, Ann Coulter.

To re-emphasize this Christian-Nationalist Good Neighbor policy, in August 2005, Christian televangelist demagogue Pat Robertson, suggested, on his 700 Club broadcast, that American agents assassinate popularly elected leftist Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez, who has been an outspoken critic of U.S. policies. Chavez, a Socialist, has shown the true meaning of Christian charity, by making supplies of Venezuela’s (CITGO) oil available to the most poverty stricken areas of North America at a 40% discount. This form of real humanitarianism is foreign to the phony Christian Prophet Pat Robertson.

“You know, I don’t know about this doctrine of assassination, but if he thinks we’re trying to assassinate him, I think that we really ought to go ahead and do it. It’s a whole lot cheaper than starting a war…and I don’t think any oil shipments will stop.”
Pat Robertson

The Fifth Commandment of God Given to Moses:
You shall not murder”
The King James Bible, Deuteronomy 5:17

Robertson later claimed this to be a lapsus linguae and offered a half-hearted apology. However, this slip of the tongue reveals the true nature of this essentially Anti-Christian movement.

In 1963, Rushdoony wrote a Christian Revisionist historical account called “The Nature of The American System,” in which he rejected the separation of Church and State. The authors of the Constitution, he wrote, intended:

“to perpetuate a Christian Order.”

Rushdoony was one of the first to raise the idea of Christian-Nationalism which by the 21st Century; has become the unashamed mantra of the CNF Crusader Right.

Rushdoony wrote in his book; Institutes of Biblical Law:

“The purpose of regeneration is that man reconstruct all things in conformity to God’s order, not in terms of man’s desire for peace. This purpose and mission involves law and coercion.”
R. John Rushdoony

Dr. Gary North, son-in-law of Rushdoony and the current leader of the Christian Reconstructionists, was quoted in an address to a gathering of Religious Right ministers stating:

“We must use the doctrine of religious liberty… until we train up a generation of people who know that there is no religious neutrality, no neutral law, no neutral education, and no neutral civil government. Then they will get busy constructing a Bible based social, political and religious order which finally denies the religious liberty of the enemies of God.”
Dr. Gary North

Most of the CNF Crusader movement leaders are true believers in Christian-Nationalism. There is no doubt that these true believers are seeking Dominion over every aspect of government, law, education, and the personal lives of the American people. Having the belief that man is intrinsically evil (the Garden of Eden Original Sin parable), the Christian-Nationalist leaders believe it necessary to legislate their puritanical brand of morality on the rest of us, and make sin a crime, when they create their 2nd Puritan Christian Commonwealth!

Moral Values:

In 399 BC, Socrates was accused of “not believing in the Gods the city (Athens) believes in, and corrupting the young. The first part of the charge was absurd, because practically nobody believed in the city’s Gods; whereas Socrates clearly did believe, very devoutly, in a good God of some kind.

If corrupting the young, by teaching them not to accept the irrational and superstitious views of their elders without question; then without doubt, Socrates like the Great thinkers of the Enlightenment; was guilty. The similarity between Socrates, who was put to death for defying the conventions of his day, and Jesus Christ, is apparent. Socrates and Christ set us a great example, by the manner of their lives and deaths, which is at the same time, an inspiration and an impossible ideal.

“The Christians had a morality, but the pagans had none. What nonsense; what of the morality of Socrates, of Zaleucus, of Charondas, of Cicero, of Epictetus, and Marcus Aurelius? Dogmas differ, but morality is the same among all men who make use of their reason. Morality proceeds from God, like light; superstition is only darkness. Reflect reader: consider the truth, and form your conclusions.”
Francois Voltaire

The February 28th 2005, issue of Time magazine contained a story of the Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist movement in America. The front page of this issue was devoted to a chilling symbol of the goal of the Christian Nationalists. The image was of a Christian Cross in front of, or over the Stars and Stripes.

“To be sure, our Christian Cross should be the most exalted symbol of the struggle against the Jewish-Marxist-Bolshevik spirit.”
Adolf Hitler

Dogma and Bigotry:

“I do not prefer one religion or philosophy to another. I have no sympathy with the bigotry and ignorance which make transient and partial and puerile distinctions between one man’s faith or form of faith and another’s—as Christian and heathen. I pray to be delivered from narrowness, partiality, exaggeration, bigotry.”
Henry David Thoreau

Since the beginning of the Bush regime, the country has been inundated with this aggressive brand of religiosity from theocratic leaders, whose intolerance equals that of the Taliban and Wahhabi Islamic Fundamentalists in the Muslim world.

“Adolph Hitler to thee alone we are bound. In this hour we would renew our solemn vow; in this world we believe in Adolph Hitler alone. We believe that National Socialism is the sole faith to make our people blessed. We believe that there is a Lord God in heaven, who has made us, who guides us and who visibly blesses us. And we believe that this Lord God has sent us Adolph Hitler, that Germany might be established for all eternity.”
Schlungsbrief, April 1937, Nathaniel Micklem, National Socialism and the Roman Catholic Church, OUP 1939

One major issue never raised by the press, is that these False Messiahs Lie! They actually say stunningly false things, and it is considered rude to challenge their perversion of the teachings of Jesus Christ; who they claim to follow. While they always support War and Hate; the Liberal teacher, Jesus Christ, and his most genuine followers, taught Peace and Love:

“Lord, make me an instrument of thy Peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow Love. Where there is injury, Pardon. Where is doubt, Faith. Where there is despair, Hope Where there is darkness, Light. Where there is error, Truth. Where there is discord, Harmony, Where there is sorrow, Joy. Grand Master, grant that I may not so much seek to be consoled, as to console; to be understood as to understand; to be loved as to love; for it is in giving that we receive, it is in pardoning, that we are pardoned, and it is in dying that we are born to eternal life.”
St. Francis of Assisi

Unfortunately, these false prophets have been very successful in attracting millions of the devout masses of all Christian traditions to their twisted version of the good news of Christianity; which requires suspending reason, embracing superstition, and reinventing Jesus Christ as a stern Old Testament Byzantine Pantocrator Judge, coming to punish most of us; and to reward the rich, Conservative, Republican, and bigoted Pat Robertsons of the world.

“You say you’re supposed to be nice to the Episcopalians and the Presbyterians and the Methodists and this and that, and the other thing. Nonsense. I don’t have to be nice to the spirit of the Anti-Christ.”
Pat Robertson, 700 Club

Unlike the Muslim-Nationalist Fundamentalists (MNF), the Christian- Nationalist  Fundamentalist (CNF) Crusader leaders of the U.S. are aggressive in their missionary zeal to proselytize and convert non-believers, Jews, Catholics, Protestants, Muslims, Mormons, and all other religious traditions around the world, to their polluted version of the teachings of Jesus the Christ.

“There has been indeed, a disturbing trend toward Fundamentalism in recent years, among political leaders and within major religious groups… …Since I am aligned with god, I am superior and my beliefs should prevail, and anyone who disagrees with me is inherently wrong, and the next step is inherently inferior. The ultimate step is subhuman, and then their lives are not significant.”
Jimmy Carter, “Our Endangered Values,” 2005

Christian-Nationalism in Apartheid South Africa

“One of the most powerful factors in the unification of the developing Afrikaner nation, and the determination of its national life, was the Christian Faith. It entailed a belief in God and the acceptance of his guidance. Free Will and Liberalism were ruled out and had to give way to conscious and responsible leadership with a specific purpose. We prefer to style it ‘Christian Nationalism’ The OB intends, therefore, in accordance with our Christian world-view and history, to safeguard the biological and spiritual composition of our people. The miscegenation of races will not be allowed, and all elements which do not agree with our world-view will be eliminated. The people may not commit suicide through a Liberal indifference.”
Founding Principles Document of the Ossewabrandwag (OB) the South African Ultra-Nationalist, White Supremacist, Anti-Semitic Pro-Nazi Fascist Movement.

The Age of Religious Hysteria Returns

In 1498, the Mad Dominican Monk and inquisitor, Savonarola, after he had devastated the Republic of Florence, and almost succeeded in establishing a Theocracy; was executed by hanging and burning at the stake, as he had done to so many innocent victims of his fanatical religious inquisition.

Like Savonarola, these American Christian Taliban-like clerics are demanding an aggressive rebirth of a strain of ancient Christian zealotry, that arises every few generations and for a while causes havoc in society.

Their idea of Christianity is a backward looking religion, with a nostalgia for a time that never existed; whose scriptures are incontestable, and immune to modification, reform, or reinterpretation in the modern world.

“Religious “fundamentalists” are a huge popular grouping in the United States, which resembles pre-industrial societies in that regard. This is a culture in which three-fourths of the population believe in religious miracles, half believe in the devil, 83 percent believe that the Bible is the “actual” or the inspired word of God, 39 percent believe in the Biblical prediction of Armageddon and “accept it with a certain fatalism,” a mere 9 percent accept Darwinian evolution while 44 percent believe that “God created man pretty much in his present form at one time within the last 10,000 years,” and so on. The “God and Country rally” that opened the national Republican convention is one remarkable illustration, which aroused no little amazement in conservative circles in Europe.”
Noam Chomsky

The “Fundamentalism” these zealots espouse is based on their version of Faith and is incontestable. For example;

  1. All issues must be viewed as black or white, good or evil, moral or immoral, with us or against us. There can be no compromises or cooperation.

  2. Since their beliefs are superior to every other faith or religion; everyone that does not believe as they do, are ignorant, pagans or worse- heretics.

  3. They impose their theological beliefs and decisions on everyone

  4. Since their knowledge comes straight from God, they must always be right, and can never admit a mistake.

  5. God is a man, thus the world must be dominated by men.

  6. The subjugation of women and their followers, by authoritarian males

  7. Fundamentalists are militant, angry and often resort to verbal and physical abuse.

  8. They demagogue emotional issues such as Homosexuality, Christian Symbolism (Ten Commandments) etc.

  9. Their characteristics are; rigidity, domination, and exclusivity.

  10. Political alignment with the Radical NFC Republicans

Their sectarian doctrinal bigotry is exactly the same as the extreme Muslim Wahhabi mullahs, and very similar in its effects, to the political ideology of the first Fascists.

The exclusivity these Fundamentalists proclaim; is not supported by the Christian Bible. Jesus demonstrated acceptance of non-Christians, including the story of the Good Samaritan and the Roman Centurion, Cornelius.

“You know how unlawful it is for a Jewish man to keep company with or go to one of another nation. But God has shown me that I should not call any man common or unclean…In truth I perceive that God shows no partiality.”
Words of the Apostle Peter to Cornelius, King James Bible, Acts 10:28-35

It is ironic that even the Muslim Quran contains a more inclusive view of other faiths:

“Say ye: We believe in God and the revelation given to us and to Abraham, Ismael, Isaac, Jacob, and the tribes, and that given to Moses and Jesus, and that given to (all) Prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them and it is unto Him that we surrender ourselves.”
Quran (2:136) the Holy Text of Islam

Until now these bigots have never had a champion in the White house!

Fascism is For Conservative-Christian-Family-Moral Values:

“The regeneration of race calls for a policy which neutralizes the damage which can be caused to its germ plasma by pathological agents; both physical and psychological, material and moral…What we call for is a Hispanic Supercaste, ethnically improved, morally robust, spiritually vigorous. For this we need to stimulate the fertility of select groups, for in biology quantity is not opposed to quality…The regeneration of the race has to be backed up by the regeneration of the family institution, because the family constituted in accordance with traditional principles of Christian morality represents a storehouse of social virtues, a bastion against the corruption of the social environment, a sacred depository of traditions…Culture and religion are consubstantial with the Christian family, which suffuses the atmosphere with a morally purifying influence that consolidates and preserves racial values.”
Antonio Vallejo-Nagera, Spanish Fascist Polemicist, 1937, proposed a resurrected Inquisition to police Spain’s racial laws under the Falange, 1937

The common doctrinal ideology of the Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist Crusaders and their evangelical movement; is in effect, a Clerical form of Fascism, which has been properly called Clerical or Cristo-Fascism.

“One species of Fascism with a time-honored past had a recent revival and may have a promising future in some parts of the world. This is Clerical-Fascism, which can take various forms, such as the confluence of Fascism and Radical Fundamentalist Religion…Fundamentalism has come to represent a Radical, Militant, Fanatical movement trying to impose its beliefs on others by means of force, and thus it is a political movement…The secular state has come under attack in many parts of the globe.…Religious Fundamentalists in the United States battle Secular humanism, and the lunatic fringe engages in acts of terrorism.”
“Fascism, Past-Present-Future,” by Walter Laqueur

The Christian Nationalists are an extreme threat to the domestic tranquility and internal security of the United States For simplicity of identification in this book, they are identified as the CNF (Christian-Nationalist Fundamentalist) Crusaders.

By 2004, these CNF Crusading ministers, had transformed their cult of Christian-Nationalism into the fastest growing and most influential religious movement in the U.S. These congregations attracted non-churchgoers, and proselytized millions of Americans that had drifted away from the mainline Catholic and Protestant Christian denominations. The May 23, 2005 issue of Business Week provided a glimpse into the big business and righteous politics of these Mega- Churches.

“Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel land and sea to win one proselyte, and when he is won, you make him twice as much a son of hell as yourselves.”
Jesus Christ, The King James Bible, Matthew 23:13

The Mega-Churches (2,000 plus people) had grown from 50 in 1980 to over 800 in 2005, with a new Mega-Church now going up in America every two days. Evangelical Christian Radio stations were up from 1,089 in 1998 to 2,014 in 2004. Christian book sales reflected a similar growth, with sales up from $2.6 Billion to $3.3 billion in 2004, as large segments of the American public responded to the massive Television and Radio evangelizing of America.

The popularity of these Mega-Churches has been attributed to their Hi-tech theatrical and entertainment complexes, which deliver a dose of strict hard line Fundamentalist Christian Dogma of; sexual repression, theological exclusivity, and religious fanaticism, in an atmosphere of old bible belt tent revivals, feel good sing-along Hootenannies, Disneyworld, emotional appeals, and slick multi-media rock concerts.

These are the new temples where shades of gray and reflective reason are banished by old time gospel music, the bright revelation of revealed truth, and unequivocal doctrine.

“The Religious and Political Right gets the public meaning of religion mostly wrong, preferring to focus only on sexual and cultural issues while ignoring the weightier matters of Justice.”
Jim Wallace, “God’s Politics,” Evangelical Moderate, Editor of Sojourners Magazine

These Theocratic-entertainment halls have none of the symbols of traditional Christianity, or the reflective atmosphere of a genuine place of worship, but they have become the American popular notion of 21st Century spirituality, e.g. Business Week reported that Pastor Bill Hybel’s Willow Creek Community Church in South Barrington, Ill. shunned stained glass windows, or even a crucifix, for his 7,200 seat, $72 Million temple, because market research suggested that such traditional symbols would scare away non-church goers.

“And when you pray, you shall not be like the hypocrites. For they pray standing in the synagogues and on the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by men. Assuredly I say to you, they have their reward. But when you pray, go into your room, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in the secret place; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly.”
Jesus Christ, King James Bible, Matthew 6: 5/6

At some point these ministers had departed from the genuine precepts of Christianity, and had become prosperous, partisan, political, patent medicine shows.

With all the Millions of dollars, and hundreds of thousands of members involved in these earthly Empires; Christ’s mission of giving money to feed the hungry, heal the sick, house the homeless, clothe the naked, and visit the incarcerated, are not precepts of their idea of Christianity.

There is no common definition of the CNF Crusaders movement, except that it typically refers to fanatical zealots who believe that the Protestant King James version of the Bible is the Literal Word of God, which fell from Heaven, all bound in a leather binding, every last word and period. While they claim to follow the teachings of the Liberal Jesus Christ, they actually prefer to follow the Hell and Brimstone proscriptions of their version of the Judaic Old Testament. Their vision of God; is the Conservative Orthodox Old Testament stern intolerant God, of enforced discipline and obedience, demanding human Sacrifice, and smiting enemies and non-believers.

They in fact, reject the words of Jesus Christ and his New Liberal Covenant or New Testament; which taught a religion of love, free will, peace and tolerance.

Literalism Is Un-Christian:

“I was delighted to hear Ambrose (St. Ambrose) in his sermons to the people saying , as if he were most carefully enunciating a principle of exegesis: ‘The letter kills, the spirit gives life’ (2 Corr. 3:6) Those texts which, taken literally, seemed to contain perverse teaching he would expound spiritually, removing the mystical veil.”
Saint Augustine, Father of the Church, “Confessions”, 354-430AD

The invention of movable type in the mid-fifteenth century by Johannes Guttenberg, led not only to the Protestant Reformation, but to the religious wars that followed it; as the sudden proliferation of competing versions of differing translations spurred doctrinal controversies and awakened long dormant prejudices between Christian sects.

The Protestant King James Bible uses approximately 6,000 English words, to attempt to translate over 11,280 Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek words of the original manuscripts of the Jewish Torah, the Latin Vulgate and other versions. It is inevitable that the nuances, shades of emphasis, dialects, and poor translating; have resulted in a loss of meaning. It has not occurred to them that the scriptures of the four Evangelists also differ in some ways; and that the message of the New Testament is the New Covenant of the first and greatest Liberal, Jesus Christ. What counts is the spirit of his message, not the specific words contained in translations; that can never carry the full meaning of the original writings.

The best summation of the spirit of the teachings of Jesus can be found in verses called  the “Beatitudes:”

  • Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven;

  • Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted

  • Blessed are the meek for they shall inherit the earth

  • Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness for they shall be filled

  • Blessed are the merciful for they shall obtain mercy

  • Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God

  • Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall be called sons of God

  • Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness sake for theirs is the kingdom of heaven

The King James Bible, Matthew 5:3-10

Included in the loyal ranks of the CNF Crusaders movement are many proselytized Catholics, Methodists, Baptists, Lutherans, Presbyterians, and previously unaffiliated converts. These followers have been recruited to these so called, Non-Denominational Churches; created by graduates of political right wing ideological Bible Colleges, and Cristo-Fascist theological seminaries; such as those financed by televangelists such as Jerry Falwell and Pat Robertson.

“For false Christs and false prophets will rise and show great signs and wonders to deceive, if possible, even the elect.”
Jesus Christ, The King James Bible, Matthew 24:24

The very Conservative Southern Baptist Convention, with 16.4 million members, separated from the moderate traditional Baptist Church, over the social issues of abortion, female ministers, and homosexuality. It announced plans in 2005, to plant 1800 new Orthodox or Fundamentalist churches in the coming years. These Southern Baptist Churches are a major segment of the Christian-Nationalist movement. As a result of the split, they have radically changed their creed to include; vouchers for Private schools, support for a Constitutional amendment to authorize; mandatory (Christian) prayer in Public schools, the primacy of the Pastor over lay members, and other favorite right wing orthodox dogma.

“There is no such thing in the Constitution. It’s a lie of the left, and we’re not going to take it anymore.”
Pat Robertson, 700 Club

Many Protestant Churches of the American South have a long history of supporting extreme and Un-Christian Conservative policies and movements, such as; Slavery, the Pseudo-Christian based Ku-Klux-Klan, Segregation, Apartheid, Anti-Catholicism, Anti-Semitism, religious hypocrisy, and strict orthodoxy in their practices. From Virginia through Texas; these churches in the old confederate states, have tapped into rich soil for recruiting Christian-Nationalists. Unfortunately this movement has now spread to the Mountain States and throughout a large part of rural and white flight suburban America.

In 2005, Pastor Ted Haggard of the 11,000 member New Life Church in Colorado Springs, Colorado was the President of the National Association of Evangelicals,(NAE) a Washington DC network of 52 different Evangelical denominations, claiming 45,000 Churches and 30 Million believers.

They made up the nation’s most powerful lobbying group on behalf of CNF causes. Haggard’s ministries followed his New Life free market approach to the divine.

The press tends to regard James Dobson as the most powerful evangelical Christian in America, but Haggard is at least his equal. Whereas Dobson plays the part of national scold, promising to destroy homosexuals and Judges and politicians who defy the Bible; Haggard moves quietly through the halls of the Washington NFC power brokers. Bush invited him to the Oval Office to discuss policy with seven other chieftains of the Christian right in late 2003, to be on hand for the signing of the Partial-Birth Abortion Ban Act.

America’s Holy Warriors

The CNF Crusaders movement began to infiltrate the U.S. military during the Holy Reagan Regime, and has spread throughout the services.

The military members of the World War II generation have been called the “The Greatest Generation,” and in many ways they were. Those who served with some of these great patriots also know that they and their wives who had survived WWII, were a lusty generation; that celebrated the fragility of life, perhaps with too much drinking, eating, and sexual freedom.

During the period following WWII, Military Officers Clubs were a place to let one’s hair down, and they frequently did. However, beginning with the first Holy Reagan Empire, personal conduct in off duty time, became an important measure of military conduct and promotion. Fearing close observation of their personal lives, young officers began to avoid the Officers Clubs altogether, damaging military Esperit-de-Corps, and turning military service into something akin to monastic life. To this day they are little more than plush facilities for formal receptions by the top brass.

During this time, personal weight also became an obsession for the Officer Corps. Overweight was out, and thin was in. The new ideal Officer image looked a lot more like the German SS, and less like the paunchy Liberal Democratic military officers that beat the hell out of the elite Axis powers in WWII.

“The war on Terrorism is a war with Satan”
“America has been targeted because we’re a Christian nation”
“My God is superior to that of the Muslims.”

(remarks publicly given while in full uniform)
Lt/Gen. William Boykin, U.S. Army
(Evangelical Christian, linked to the Abu Ghraib prison Torture Scandal)

In June 2005, Lt/Gen John W. Rosa, the Superintendent of the Air Force Academy, located in Colorado Springs, admitted that born again CNF Crusaders, (probably some of Haggards followers), had completely permeated the entire staff, faculty, and cadet corps of the USAF military academy, and were proselytizing students and harassing non-fundamentalist Christians; including casting racial slurs at Jewish students. This is not surprising, since by the 1980s, during the Holy Reagan Empire, the DOD and the U.S. military had been infiltrated by many of these fanatical religious fundamentalists.

Some of the cadets and the Lutheran Chaplain, Captain Melinda S. Morton, resigned from the Academy over the issue, after they had complained that Cadets who are not Fundamentalist Evangelical Christians were being subjected to unwanted proselytizing, and a culture of religious bias from Evangelicals in the main body of the staff and Cadet Corps. Sensing a PR disaster of huge proportions, the Secretary of the Air Force quickly sent Lt/Gen Roger A. Brady to the Academy to conduct a typical cover-up investigation.

In August of 2005, Brady gave a typical mixed message, when he stated that his investigation did not turn up any evidence of religious discrimination or evidence of systematic Christian Evangelism, among the faculty (contradicting the Superintendent!), however he said that the school suffers from a “lack of awareness over where the line is drawn between permissible and impermissible expression of belief At his Press Conference he also acknowledged there were a number of cases of “concern including seven referred for further investigation. He refused to be specific, but allowed that some involved professors!

A week after the report was released; the Secretary of the Air Force announced the appointment of Rabbi Arnold E. Resnicoff to be an advisor to the Secretary and the Air Force Chief of Staff, on drafting guidelines for the expression of faith while on active duty. Resnicoff, speaking at the press conference, said that the Air Force is taking on the religious bias issue throughout the service, not just at the Academy, and they could not be taking this matter any more seriously than they are.”

The Military Code of “Christian-Nationalist” Conduct

On August 10, 2005, the Washington Post’s Dana Priest and Madonna Lebling reported that the Army had relieved a four-star general of his command amid allegations that he had an extramarital affair with a civilian. These are excerpts of their report:

Gen. Kevin P. Byrnes, 55, led the Army's Training and Doctrine Command at Fort Monroe, Va., where he supervised the recruitment and academic programs at 33 Army schools, from basic training to the war colleges. Byrnes, who several military sources said had a previously unblemished record, was set to retire in November after 36 years of service.

The Army spokesmen said that Gen. Peter J. Schoomaker, the Army's chief of  staff, relieved Byrnes of his command on Monday as the result of an investigation by the Defense Department's Inspector General.  A spokesman said Army officials could find no case of another four-star general being relieved of duty in modern times.

Several defense sources familiar with the case, speaking anonymously because the investigation is not complete, said Byrnes is accused of having an "inappropriate relationship," and some described him as being involved in an extramarital affair. Byrnes, defense attorney, Lt. Col. David H. Robertson, said the allegation against Byrnes involves an affair with a private citizen. Byrnes has been separated from his wife since May 2004; their divorce was finalized on Monday, coincidentally the same day he was relieved of command.

“The allegation against him does not involve a relationship with anyone within the military or even the federal government,” Robertson said, emphasizing that the allegations do not involve more than one relationship. “It does not involve anyone on active duty or a civilian in the Department of Defense.”

Relieving a General of his command amid such allegations is extremely unusual, especially given that he was about to retire.

The Army has been hurt over the past year by detainee-abuse cases and has been accused of not going after top officers allegedly involved in such abuse. Army officials said relieving Byrnes was meant to show the public that the service takes issues of integrity seriously. The disciplinary action struck some military experts as severe, given Byrnes's reputation as a popular general who has been ushering in systemic changes in Army doctrine and training, a Vietnam War veteran who served as the commanding general of the 1st Cavalry Division and commanded multinational troops in Bosnia.

Byrnes served as director of the Army staff just before taking over at Fort Monroe in 2002. Byrnes's case comes after two prominent Air Force Generals were accused publicly of sexually harassing subordinates, and as the Defense Department is  restructuring its sexual harassment policies.

Neal A. Puckett, a military defense lawyer in Alexandria, said it may be unprecedented to have a four-star General relieved of command for allegations of an affair. He said removing Byrnes from his office is likely to be the end of his punishment. "Usually there is no incentive to bring criminal charges, because they are taking his career and flushing it down the toilet," Puckett said. "There's not much more that you can do to a high-ranking officer like that. His legacy is ruined."

In the new Holy Bush Empire it is not an offense to permit your soldiers to abuse, torture, and murder POWs and captives, but committing the sin of adultery on your own time, is an offense against the new CNF Military Code of Christian Conduct.

Holiness had long ago become U.S. Military S.O.P.

Open Your Own Jesus Franchise

Unlike other mainline religions, the new miscellaneous Non-Denominational Churches follow no standard ecclesiastical requirements, have no hierarchical discipline, and no supervisory authority. They belong to a loosely organized group called the Christian Evangelical Assembly, which has no real authority over each independently operated business. They operate the biggest Mega-Churches, and according to the Hartford Seminary, they each pulled in an average of $4.8 million annually, with some of the biggest, like Joel Osteen’s Lakewood Church, of 30,000 members in Houston, Texas, getting $55 million in donations in 2004.

They are, in effect major Theo-Political business operations that pay no taxes!

“It is written, My house shall be called a house of prayer’, but you have made it a ‘den of thieves.’
Jesus Christ, King James Bible, Matthew 21:13

Osteen’s Church is reported to pay $15 million each year just to produce broadcasts of his Sunday sermons on National Cable and Network channels. Business Week reported that, flush with success, he was shelling out a cool $90 million to transform the Houston Compaq Center, former home of the Houston Rockets, into a church that will seat 16,000 people, complete with a high-tech stage for his TV shows, and Sunday school for 5,000 children.

These Mega-Churches were not just another symptom of the American penchant for supersizing everything, they were a reflection of the greed and egos of their founders, and of their thirst for the political power that comes from leading huge compliant memberships.

“They carried on this traffic prosperously, and the poor people were thoroughly deceived….the imposters themselves living meantime in all luxury and gluttony.”,br />Martin Luther

The CNF Crusader Christian book market has likewise exploded. Osteen, whose face adorns the cover of his best selling book “Your Best Life Now” has sold 2.5 million copies since its publication in the fall of 2004.
